The sliding tray is awesome, it hides under the sliding top when you want access to the large open area below.  Perfect for a holding your sunglasses, business cards, or anything you want to hide when you close the sliding drawer in your Model 3 or Model Y.  Just place it inside and slide it forward when you want access to items below the tray.
