CARBON FIBER WARRANTY - Weave Variance

Carbon fiber molding is a very unique form of art because thousands of strands of fabric are floating inside of a liquid resin while it is molding. After the molding process the carbon fiber weave may show inconsistencies in direction and variations in distances between the rows over curved surfaces. These variations are normal and are not a manufacturer's defect.

CARBON FIBER EPOXY RESIN WARRANTY (1 Year):

Carbon fiber molding is performed with resins and epoxy. The epoxy resin layering is infused with UV protection and in addition, the final part is coated with 3 coats of UV protection. Over time, UV damage to carbon fiber is a normal when exposed to prolonged sunlight.

Specifically, when your car is not garaged and is parked outside in sunlight. The chains of polymers within the epoxy can break down, causing yellowing, fading, and cracking.

To extend the life of carbon fiber we recommend parking it in a garage or keeping a car cover on when parked in sunlight for long periods of time. We also suggest installing applying clear bra paint protection, or using a nano-ceramic coating, or wax with UV resistance, or lastly using a UV protectant like "303 Protectant”. Any of these 4 methods will help.

CARBON FIBER RESTORATION:

If your carbon fiber part has yellowed or faded, you may be able to restore it to its original shine. For glossy carbon fiber products, the yellowing layer can be removed with rubbing compound or wet sanding. Carbon fiber with a matte carbon fiber requires to be recoated with a matte finish and this is not a DIY process. We are not responsible for any of the damages that are caused by your attempt to restore the carbon fiber.

RETURNING USED CARBON FIBER PRODUCTS:

Please note that once the double-sided adhesive liner is removed, the product is considered USED, and cannot be returned. Therefore, we urge our customers to carefully inspect the product and ensure they are satisfied with the appearance before removing the liner and placing it on their TESLA.

Simply clean your mirror skull caps with rubbing alcohol. Then, peel off the double sided 3M Tape and slide it right over the cap. Lastly, line up the bottom and tape in place while the alcohol evaporates.

Carbon Fiber Restoration Process: For glossy carbon fiber products, the yellowing top layer can be removed with compound and or wet sanding. After the top epoxy layer is removed with the yellow oxidation is gone just polish to a bright shinny finish. Unfortunately, matte carbon fiber requires a more complicated process that we would not recommend unless you are a professional.
