We all know when our kids drag something from our trunk they don't always lift gently, and the simply drag things over the trunk sponge rubber seal and then let it go.  This means scratches.  Not with this new item installed.  This material is actually self healing and if it gets marked or scratched it heals itself.  You an wash it wax it and treat it like paint.
